My Car has 105 000Km...
... and it is in serious need of a tuning. It just doesn't seem to ride as smooth and doesn't have the power it once had.
I want to get a total tune up....
I don't know where to go, what to get and how much it will run me?
Any input is appreciated...

yeah I'd say work downthis list I had when I went to a shop:
Spark plugs
plug wires
belts
timing belt
water pump
tires
brakes
fuel filter
fuel system flush
rad system flush
oil change
oil filter...
it was expensive but the car is like gold now

most of the stuff there babs you can probably do yourself..
any of the "equipment required" stuff you'll have to get a shop to do..
i'd do the rad fer sure..
i'd think about the fuel, ya never know what kinda shyt is running down yer lines.....
brake fluid is easy too.......
out with the old, in with the new..

I just did a minor rebuild on a Neon... head gasket, timing belt, water pump, a butt load of things... and now I gotta do it all over again for my Saturn, then the Civic, then a major engine build GA13 for the Suzuki :working: And my dad's TDI needs new glow plugs *cough*POS*cough* It's fun stuff if you get into it babs.

Don't be intimidated... just go and dig in... buy a chilton or helms manual, and start wrenching... once you get into it' it's pretty easy. Basically, the hardest thing is getting the right tools $$ but CT and Sears sometimes have sales on tools, so spend a few $$ hundred every time. I usually spend about $300-400 every time on tools... this summer my pockets are gonna be cuz I have to get air tools and a welder...prolly a $1000 minimum.

Tools cost quite a bit, but I'm glad my father purchased most of the tools I'll ever need. (Just lacking the hoist still...lol) But doing it yourself is definitely more fun, money saver, and you know what's going in and out of your car. No offense to shops out there, but I don't always trust them. They may say they putting in good stuff, but in reality be giving you used crap. Besides, I don't like anyone handling my car but me, and the few mechanics I do trust of course when needed.
