My Plan

Just wanted to share with you folks my plan for my 1993 Honda Civic DX HB since the Brown Bread transformation is done (for now). Note most of the stuff listed won't be purchased all at once but as time goes along. My budget is limited on what I can do initally. I expect the engine swap to happen in the next few weeks.
I will place the Engine and Suspension plan only.

-------------------------------

Civic Plan #2: Project SOHC Rev.1.2 – Detailed and cut short (only important stuff)

Engine
· Rebuild from JDM D15B VTEC with a Si/Ex AUTO tranny
· Get AUTO Si ECU - P08 for D15B
· 4-2-1 Ceramic Header from Ractive (H101 or H101CR)
· CAI Intake
· Camshaft and Cam Gears
· CarSound Catalytic converter (“22636”) – OR Ractive C101 Exhaust Resonator (acts as Cat Converter), C&R Wide Radiator
· RACTIVE TWIN LOOP – MTP330 – Axel back Bolt-On

Suspension
· 1 to 1.5 inch drop – KYB AGX shocks with Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
· Sway Bar (Front and Rear) - Eibach Anti-Roll Kit
· Strut Bars (Front and rear) - RACTIVE H021BA (Front Upper) – Ractive H022BA (Upper Rear)
· Rear Lower Arm Bar – RACTIVE H007A (Rear Lower)

--------------------------------

Haha RACTIVE powa baby! Ractive ain't crap. I do not plan to boost. Don't flame me for the AUTO trans, I guess I'm a lazy *** to learn stick plus it would be a pain in the *** to drive stick in traffic which in Toronto is what we have everyday...lol. WOO!

I forgot to ask. I'm not really sure the header I want can fit into the D15B. The D15B is basically like a ZC SOHC so the header's classified as 92-95 Honda Civic would work right?

seriously, don't spend money on headers and whatnot, because considering the motor has like 126HP and auto tranny, the performance increase will be negligible. The car is probably gonna feel slower with the swap now that you've brown breaded the whole car.

My honest opinion, save up a little bit more and get atleast a B16. It won't be fast but you will have adequate power when you require it. Otherwise in time you will seriously regret your choices.

auto *choking.... choking*

leave ALL Ractive parts OFF the car, they are just dead weight (intake, header, strut bars). Use stock parts instead. learn to drive stick, it only takes one afternoon.

I just got some Tanabe Sustec braces... I'll let you guys know if lower braces are worth the money.

One way to learn how your car works is to install the parts and select the parts yourself and test them out. Sure people online can provide info for you but at the end of the day, they aren't the one who is driving your car.

You might like your plan, and you might not like it afterwards. A lesson learned is better than a lesson told. Experiences matter.

So I say you go for it, and I would just focus on suspension/foot work first. Power isn't everything and you need to handle your car better. Read some more on spring rates and how the bars work. You might want to allocate your funding a little differently and thinking front/rear sway bar.

If you need more info or can't find some, then ask some more.

Ya I belive in Suspension first. Just got to get engine in there first.

The Anti-Roll kit are the front and rear sway bars so that is covered. I agree that power isnt everything. You can go fast but if you cant go fast and turn, then theres no point.

Autos are good for AutoX because I said so? haha. JK

if you wanna save some cash just get a d16z6 swap though cause people are practically giving them away...

I don't understand. What are you trying to do other then waste money?

Are you going for speed? Handling? Looks? Audio? What exactly? Set some goals for what you want your car to become and accomplish before you go dumping money into a 11yr old ride.

It's not that we really care, but the thing is, from the looks of your plan, it really seems like you're half-assing your car all over.

Half-*** Suspension,
Pathetic motor,
automatic?!?,
Cheap bolt-ons,
Cheap exhaust..

Go ahead and complete your plan.. Just don't come back complaining when everything sounds, looks and runs worse than stock.
