pre-OBD or OBD-1????

need some help.........i'm looking at buying a B18a for my 94 civic

guy says it's from a 92 integra(obd1), but i don't trust his word very much

it could be from a 90-91 or a 92-93

i'm not sure.....is there a way to tell if it is OBD1 or not

thanks

you can also check the vin number on the engine. the 10th digit is a letter that represents a year
i believe its
n= 90
o= 91
p= 92
q= 93
r= 94
etc.

i could have sworn i heard thats its illegal to swap an engine thats older than your car.
