I know someone who is looking to put a d17 from a newer civic(2002) into an older one (1998) is this swap a direct bolt in like all other d-series? and will the tranny from the d17 mate with a d16?

 

i think they are different.. for one, one has a solid shift linkage, and the new d17 has a cable shift linkage... the layout of the engine bay is different too, and so is the entire suspension, therefore the mounts might be different

 

can anyone varify this?
