should I swap ????

In response to the non-factual info/BS I have this to say:
Just so you know, I've done ALL the work on my car, eng, trans, suspension, brakes, and other isht etc etc except for the bodywork/paint.
If you've checked around for CTR/ITR motors you'll find they are all in the $4500-5500 range.
If your going for GSR swap, your looking at about $3500-4500 with/without LSD.
Not trying to flame you, this is factual info, not BS. I think you'll find most of this info is unanimous I was just trying to show you the reality of things $$$ wise and help you with your search.

1st thing is to fix whtever rust you may have, then to do susp and brakes... then worry about the motor.
I can put a 454 on a turd, and the turd will fall apart. so just make sure the car you put the motor into is up to the task... esp after 16/17 years of abuse

if you really wanna go with boost in the long run, grab a b18b (cause they are cheap and a dime a dozen) and a b16 tranny and pr3 head and go ls/vtec.....but leave the pistons alone for this season (if you plan on boosting why waste money on pistons to raise the comp?)
L/s vtec's are great for boost and fun NA too.
You gotta decide before hand NA or turbo...they are two totally different ways of buildin up an enigine.
b18c5 gets my vote, but if u wanna boost either go all out on the d-series, sleeve it crazy low comp pistons and lots of boost, which kinda seems silly to me b/c your limiting yourself. Or get a b18b, b/c they can handle decently high psi levels with minimal work and stock internals.
Doing the work yourself will save you lots of money and be a great learning experience.

yeah why waste money on a car thats not worthy and won't last you as long as u plan on keepin it?
I think this year you need to focus on gettin ur car up to par, then next year worry about makin it fast.

Hey,
I honestly think this is a decision that you are gonna have to make on your own. Everything depends on what you are looking for. Do you want on the spot speed or higher end speed. Are you gonna track the car or just some stoplight to stoplight.
I think everyone is gonna have different input. I realixe most like a b series swap but you have to think realistically what type of gains you want. More importantly do you want everything at once or do you wanna do a slow build up.
I have friends that went Bseries and love it I also have a few friends w/ boosted d series. I hae rode and driven both. They are both good. Bseries is instant power but you drop $3000-$3500 in one shot. Then you have to add installs misc. things and then all your bolt on power/parts. D series are alot of fun boosted & they are easy to find parts or complete blocks. <-- that setup is really fun.
I originally wanted a B however it doesnt fit into my budget anymore. Its not expensive but I have more priority for my $$ right now. So I have decided to just by a d16z6 and build it for all motor (maybe boost later.)
Thats my 2 cents!!! Have fun with the project. Just TAKE YOUR TIME you are young with $$$ make the right decision.
