I've heard about their drag Civic, but other than that, nothing really.

How much did they quote you?

quotes i have (in writing)
$2500 - B18B1 w/ tranny/ecu/wiring/axles/shift linkage

$2000 - D16Y7 w/ same as above

so far they have the best $$.. I'm waiting on word from KS-R cuz He's got that B16 (what I REALLY want)..

I dunno.. seems legit.. 5000KM/3 month warranty on parts, lifetime on wiring.

Let me know what ya think.. very reasonalbe guys to deal with too.. no shoot downs like some of the other shops I've dealt with out here in the west end.

eh, let me know

DO NOT BUY that D16Y7, hell that would be insane. People throw away those motors for free when they swap to B-Series.

But yeah that B18B1 looks like a decent price, this includes labour or no?

Anyways, make sure they give you a P75 ECU from an OBDI B18B1, this will work perfectly in your car, '93 Dx right? And check the stamp and numbers on the block, head, ecu, and tranny before dishing out any cash. It only takes a few seconds and will save you tons of trouble down the road.

well, my debate is the LS to upgrade is MAD coin, while the D16 can be tuned all motor for a lot less..
yeah, the 2500 is all in labour and everything... what should I look for for the stamps you mention?
I dunno.. the B16 is my 1st choice.. waiting to hear back from KS-R on the 1st gen he has for sale... maybe if he can do it for around the same I'll go that way.. too many choices.. not enough cash and time (300K on a DX? not even burning oil yet!! HAHAHA.. stupid puny domestics!)
eh.. still open to suggestions.. unless one of ya has an extra engine hanging around (prefer a B18C1)
let me know, and thanks for the advice

Well if money's tight, and your motor is still running well I'd suggest you wait a bit...

Paul from Splitfire is pretty cool.. They've taken a B16 hatchback Civic and turned it into a 9 second car...

As for their labor and service I don't know.. I've never dealt with them personally and couldn't really tell you.

Hell, no one I know has a swap done by them so I'd do some thorough research first.

Regards,
OK

All I have heard about them is problems on top of problems. I personally like Ken at IPC in Brampton since he only specializes in Honda/Acura cars, nothing else. I have seen some swaps that Splitfier has done where they used an LS computer with a B16A engine and didn't want to own up it when confronted. Besides that I have seen bucher swaps done by them where they cut and welded in mounts, which turend out to be cruced and the engine was not sitting properly and hitting the firewall. I would storngly advise anyone to stay away from Splitfier. Besides, the drag car that they build was not actually done by them, but ofcourse they will not admit that. If you do decide to go with them make sure you have everything on paper befor you pay for it.

Also if you are looking for any engines e-mail me and I might be able to help you out. rafal_bulgarski@yahoo.com

Have you considered doing the swap yourself? If you go with a b16a2 you can drop that engine yourself without any hastles and save on the installation. Let me know if you have a place to do it, I will be more than happy to help you out, and I am sure there would be others on the board that would be gald to help you as well.

Hey rbius, before you go with splitfire contact Rick at RT Motorsport. They're up in Concord, so it's not TOO far from where you're at.

The going price for a B16a2 is about $3000 for engine, tranny, ecu. Not including installation.
