Steering wheel SHAKES BADLY.....
HI.
I recently bought 16" rims and tires in very good condition.
There is no dents, scraches, or even marks on any of the rims.
Very nice and clean, and I paid some good money for it too.
Tires are OK too. Dunlops with about %75 left of front.
Now, when I go over 120Km/h, steering wheel starts to shake badly. Up and down vibrations that go through my hands and through my spine!!!!
This wasn't a big thing before, when I had my 13" Goodyear Integritys. I did need an alignment though, as the car was tending to go left all the time. There could have been some minor vibrations, but nothing that made me notice it......
The alignment problem is no longer there with the new rims and tires, however, I get this horrible shakes and vibration over 120 Kms/h
Car is a 93 DX Coupe. Well taken care of, 150,000 Kms and no power streeing.
Any thoughts everyone?

Rims are alloys and lighter than my steelies, if not equal in weight...
There are no curb marks or dents on the rims. Very clean and satisfying.... :-)
hmmmmmm... Alignment could be it, eh?

sounds like you bought used rims and tires....
there are a number of possibities.
when tires get driven on, they start to wear, so they can have a left and right bias to them, especially on a lowered car where camber wear has developed. so you might have the tires that were previosly from the drivers side on passenger side.
tire balancing could also be the issue...
get you tires balanced, and check the tread for greater wear on outside vs inside of the tread.

The 2 front ones were previously mounted on rear, and have much more threat than the other 2. So I put them on front.
I didn't see any chamber wear, and the rubber seems to be evenly wore. ( R rated tires)
Tire balancing is a very good point...
Any idea how much it costs?
Hey thanks alot for helpful advice guys. Appretiated.

Ball joints sound painful.... hahaha.
It better be the balancing.
How much would the ball joints cost me?
I know that sooner or later I will come across those kindda things.
After all, my car is a 93 model with 150000 kms on it...

how old are you? By your posts you sound like a teenager.
Balancing should be no more than $40, ($10 per wheel), and alignment varies in price.
It sounds like your wheels are out of balance, maybe all the weights flew off. Mine did that, then I got it rebalanced, and they are out of balance again. Thankfully for me I rarely use t he hwy anymore so I can deal with it. Its because of stupid aluminum rims.
...and... JSK is the man! It was good meeting you last week!
