i started this forum with coil-over and ppl said it is not worth to get tein coil-over. i was fighting between coil-over and H&R with Koni yellow. for sure, teh spring and shock will be cheaper.

i don't want the car to be too low in the winter, cause i go to school in the north of toronto. lots of snow. i have no problem driveing a lowered car in the city but not in the north.

i will pick the H&R with konic yellow. i will expect a 1.5 to 2 inches drop with my car. can i jack up the car back to oringal height by setting the 3 adjustment on the konic yellow?? cause i don't want to drive a 2 inches lowered car in the thick snow.

the main point is can i jack up my car up by 2 inches after i lowered it by 2 inches with H&R and Konic yellow shock..

You can adjust +/- about 0.5" with the Koni Yellows. The problem is, to adjust the height, you need to completely remove and disassemble the shock/spring combo. Unless you're doing the work yourself, this will cost you $100 each time (twice a year). If you're just getting H&R Sport springs, you shouldn't have any problems driving the car even up north.

Mr.2 , i'm not just getting the spring. i will do the spring and shock at the same time. i personally think 2 inches lowered is too low my up hill drive way, not just the snow.

Well, you'd be surprised what a lowered car can clear just if you are careful and take the correct appoach.

EK7, the chassis bracing you speak of is available from optauto.com, mah man Greg Y can hook you up, the carry Cusco chassis braces and carry a line of Spoon products as well. Great place to deal with if you are ordering from the states.

coilover

I use the JIC's on my car and love them the best ride ever. If u have the money buy TEIN or JIC real coil overs not a spring and shock.

Hey all,

I am thinking of getting Tein SS coilovers and have some questions:

1. Aside from the coilovers themselves is there anything else I need to get? (like the upper mounts?)

2. Is there anywhere in the GTA where I can get them installed by pro's who have experience with this particular product?

3. How much should I expect to pay aside from the price of the coilovers themselves? (mounts, labor, etc.)

I really don't know too much about this, so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

BTW they're going on a 98 Si.

You can reuse the stock mounts, or you can opt for the Ground Control upper mounts as seen on their website. It's a new product, not many know about it. I have not tried them yet, but in my previous experince with Cusco camber plates on other cars, I know it makes the ride a lot more harsh but greaty improves turn in and responsiveness. Labour should be about $100, any more and you are getting ripped... this is the easiest install ever. If you show up to the May 19th Shannonville track with parts in hand and a spring compressor I'll install for free. But you gotta be willing to wrench away at the spring compressor, cuz I HATE doing that part.
