timing belt question

b18a block with a b16a vtec head

do you use a b16 timing belt or a b18 timing belt

tough one

I really have no idea what i'm talking about but here goes.

b18 timing belt.

From what I remember the block determines what belt to use. B16 blocks are shorter than GSR blocks so you have to use a GSR belt or will be too tight...kind of thing. Unfortunately I don't know about other b18 blocks. (i'm basically guessing here) But I know that if you do SEARCH for sure you will find your information.

I used a B18B timing belt but it was just bit too loose, I was scared that it would skip after some miles. The GSR belt is better but you gotta wiggle it on, better with two people.

actually which water pump dictates which timing belt to use.
If you are using the stock b18a/b (19 teeth) water pump then use the b18a/b timing belt, but if you are using a vtec water (22 teeth) pump (b16, gsr, itr) then use the gsr/itr timing belt.
I know this for a fact.
