trying to remove damper assembly.. bolt head snapped
whats the easiest way to get this bolt out? drill it out with a matching size drill bit?
will i have to grind the welded nut off the damper?
also what should i replace it with

its easy, we have covered this a million times! just cut the welded nut off strut, then with a nice big punch and BFH whak the bolt out from the nut side... sometimes a little heat helps out or some liquid wrench... worst case, torch the whole bushing and bolt out together, then replace the bushing..
The catch to doing this is you have to now find the proper sized lock nut for the new bolt ( the nuts with the urethane toped threads) to replace the welded nut... unless you feel so inclined to weld a new nut back onto the strut after its all tightened down... The easy way is a new locknut

If I read what you mean correctly the same thing happend to me.
I ended up with t bolt end stuck in my lower control arm and couldn't get it out.
The nut there is (suppost) to be a stronger one and we broke 4 drill bits trying to drill it out.
I ended up bying a new lover control are and using a liberal ammount of anti-sieze.

i doubt your gonna smack it out even if you remove the rear 19mm nut from the back of the strut... tired it before and would not move at all...
your best bet is to just cut it out and put a new one in, drilling out is risky and you better have a press to make sure its straight through and not angled
this is so common in honda, you gotta live with it...
if you do get it out by hammering it out, just screw the 19mm nut back on the end, no need to go out and buy a lock one.

well i used a cutting torch and it ****ed the nuts threads, and im sure a sawzzle will **** the threads also.. and another reason why i say get a new nut is for the locking threads... that nut is welded for safety cuz its a huge vibration point, im sure that nut would rattle off over time...
and i got my bolt out with a punch and hammer and a bit of heat, still useing the bushing, its in better shape than the other side of the cars (cracked) ... so its a case to case baisis... start with the punch if that doesnt work then say by to your bushing, and torck or cut it out.
