Second question is why is it better for the exhaust to be hotter going into the turbo?? Like why do people get there manifold ceramic coated or wrapped in that wrapping to keep the heat in??? Wouldnt it be better to be cooler??
Ok, so ....... the crack in the manifold would cause the "gases" to escape and not be trasfer to the turbo, therefor a loss in pressure.
As for the wrap, it is used to keep the heat in the maifold and stop it from disappating in its travel, due to the fact the turbo sysem uses the heat. It has a second factor that it helps keep your engine bay cooler, but that is not the real reason why people who know why they are applying it use it.
(why would a track car care if the engine bay is cooler? the intake is usally pointed out of the front bumper and is not affected by the heat in the engine bay, but they still use it - hence it only being a secondary effect)
