Turboing a D15B Engine??
#21
yes i dont have alot of hands on experience, comparing my car to my friends car is what alot of this is based on. If you think my friends d turbo can keep up with my B18b1 hatch 1-3 i would doubt it very much so after driving both cars.
Bruno can you show me a stock D-series turbo that has a similar power band from 1-4 as a B18b1?

like i said i know a turbo D will pretty much smoke a stock B18b in 1/4 mile, even 1/8 but i prefer to have power down in the lower rpm. I know the car isnt setup perfect but even if you fixed the little things do you think thats really gonna make up for the lack of low-end torque on the D series.
no need to argue over this, I Prefer the B18b1 over a d series turbo but I know the d turbo is faster in a straight line.

Cee_mon said it all right there. We can argue all day long, but the bottom line is, you're still wrong lol
BTW, I don't know anyone with a 4 cylinder car that doesnt' normally rev to 3000 rpm on a regular basis. And really that's where the fun begins, right there when you punch it and the turbo screams.... it's game over for whoever is trying you

So i guess I can Use a CX motor, i mean it doesnt have VTEC so i'm guessing i wont have as much gains as a D16y8? but if it can still be done, and reliable... then my questions have too been answered. Thanks guys.

t25 or even a small t3.
The only reason why I recomend a small t3 is because if you are piecing together a kit you are more than likely to find a used manifold that is flanged for a t3 and not a t2... that will save you a few hindred bucks.

Does anyone think that putting a turbo on the D15b SOHC VTEC -e engine is worth it? or will produce any decent results?
The engine is a 1.5L but i dunno if there is a way to actually make these things fast without doing TOOO much work..but what i had in mind would be doing a small turbo setup.....but i dunno if it would be worth it...
if it is, could u recommend which turbo I buy???
thanks
