The reason the h22 feels like a lot if because it has the BIGGEST dip in the power curve right before vtec engages out of all the honda motors.

stock SiR is 5500 rpm.

5800ish for an ITR

6 in a gsr iirc. in the 4 range is the intake business.

you will feel a difference but its not like a turbo hitting or anything like that. its not supposed to be anyways.

you realize that you gain nothing by having it engage any earlier, infact the car is probably slower if it engages anywhere else unless of course youve tuned for it.

Just so you know, in the D17 for the new Si (and Acura EL), the VTEC implementation is VTEC-E, which means it's different from SOHC VTEC. It's a two-rocker design, which is designed to optimize fuel economy instead of power. So you shouldn't be able to hear or feel much when it kicks in.

VTEC engagement at 5500rpm on my Si was FAR more noticeable when I switched from CAI to a short ram.. unbelievable sensation when you take it to the rev-limiter.

I've also experienced redline in an SiR, GS-R, ITR and H22.. ITR was my favourite, the H22 was dissapointing-- but still NEITHER came ANYWHERE close the the peak torque felt at redline in the RSX-S.

my .2
