What to do...
What do you guys think I should do to my 02 civic? I have been thinking of cai, header, exhaust and front lip. Anyone have any better suggestions that are kind of cheap? lol

lol, i have rims, but it's winter so im keeping them nice and clean and those are new tires, nothing fancy just something better for winter....any suggestions on the brand names for those parts? I just read the intake thread about buying a cheap intake and using a K&N filter ......I kind of want something that will give me more power. I think i got jipped with the motor and it's only 115hp? sound about right? Whatever, either way I want more kick hehe.

well a nice free flow exhaust would be sweet.... like from hks or greddy if you got the funds, otherwise get a muffler only from them and have it custom piped at a shop.... if the FULL cat back is stainless steel, piping and all, getting a muffler and having custom piping will be lighter, about intakes, its a toss up, everyone here has their own opinions, so go with whatever floats you boat. header..... kamikaze if they make one for your car. front lip.... i love the mugen style.... not sure if they have them for your year, but they prolly do.

ok. would you happen to have any guesses to how much the muffler would be with the custom piping? and for intakes what's best cai or sri and I saw a cai for sale at Channels (probably heard of it) and it was plastic piping....I'm guessin metal is better?

well if you read some old threads... sri is "better".... and i have heard that metal piping is bad because it gets REALLY hot and thus, heats up the air on the inside, ruining you intentions, i am going to remove my airbox and add a k&n conical shaped filter... maybe that will work for you
for the exhaust, the muffler varies from around 250-400 id say depending on brand and model, install at a shop should be like 100-200, so it can actually end up the same amount as the cat back, and the cat back you may be able to install yourself if you know what youre doing.. so its really up to you
(*i dont know how accurate my price ranges are cuz i live in tha states*)

yea i read the sri is better, but i didnt understand all the technical terms so i was kind of lost. Those are pretty good prices for mufflers and i have contacts at shops so would be easy and cheap to install. As for the cat back, lol i hardly know where to start with engines so i dont think doing it myself would work. By the way, what exactly is cat back and it's better than a muffle right? you said it was lighter is that the only difference?

well see the muffler is just the cannister and tip, a "axle back" is from your rear axle back, including mufler and a little length of pipe. a cat back is from your catalytic converter back. your cat is directly after you header or exhaust manifold if you are stock
the reason why custom piping is lighter is due to the fact that shops usually use aluminum pipe, which is light.... you CAN get cat back systems with aluminum, but the better quality brands use stainless steel, which doesnt rust.... stainless steel however is heavy compared to aluminum

Who wanted to rip you off on the board man? Paid members?
Anyways, get some pvc piping and make a custom CAI with a KnN filter and during the winter run a short ram. I would just get a nice sounding muffler and custom piping for an exhaust. If your gonna do both of those you might aswell look into getting headers aswell. That should give you a little more pep and pickup.
Good luck on building up the car, there are a coupe 7th gen 4drs around here so you should get in contact with them for suggestions.
