Where to get Nissan SR20DET (Silvia) engines
Hey ppl. Where in Toronto can I get this swap done? How much would a full swap be? I might be able to pick up a 240 with high mileage for cheap so that's why I wanted to know.

it will cost approximetly 6500-7500$ installed into a 240sx, price is depending on wheather you want the red or black valve cover SR20DET.

How does it work out to so much? Like Venus Auto in Cali sells full front clips for likke $1000-1500 US, and deliver is extra. They even R32 Skyline clips for that smae price. Like if I bought it over there had it shipped and installed, shouldn't it be much cheaper?

this is a place i call for used auto parts, its pretty cheap.
Even my auto teacher said it was a really cheap place to get parts.
i called in for one of those engines before, i think full swap would cost about $3500-4000
that was a half year ago when i still wanted a 240sx
the number to that place is 416-752-0000
It also wouldn't hurt to try a japanese auto wreakyard because they might have these engines

a few months ago sport compact car did a silvia swap into a 240sx coupe..... the car looked really good..... i think they did the whole thing for $3000 us.... but i dont think that counts labour in installing.....
the sr20det swap would dominate so many cars though..... i mean say you got the s15 motor... stock you'd have 250hp.... 6 spd and an lsd.... and they aren't the heaviest cars in the world either

Thanks StreetXtreme. I called the guy with the 240 yesterday and he told me the engine blew up the night before and that there was a fire and the wiring harness melted completely. I asked him how much I could pick up the shell for, cause the body was in good shape, and he said him and a few co-workers beat the **** out of it like 20 min before cause it was gonna just go to the scrapper. Basically i would have needed a new back window and new rear quarter panels. I guess there goes my idea for a project Silvia.
d16z6 power: I have that issue you're talking about. I got it like the first day on the racks hehe. The Silvia engine really varies though. Like for me to find an S15 swap, it would cost a fortune. I would have been happy with the S13 redtop, 202 hp I think. Oh well I guess it's all over now hehe. BTW, 240's are light as hell man. My bro has had 3 S13 models, and now he sold his Sentra SE-R Spec V, and bought an S14 240. His is gay though. It's auto and has this nasty woodgrain. But back to the weight, yeah I remember he had to put extra weight and sandbags in his car come winter time because the back end was so light. And when he had the one with Super HICAS, that thing could handle. We did 120 around the turn under the bridge at Bayview and Royal Orchard with no problems at all.

Are we talking about sr20's in the honda engine bay or are we talkin bout them being installed in the nissan's???
If its being installed into a 240 i can give u detailed instructions on how to completely remove the old engine and drop in the s20 in there.
I got the complete worksheet on that drop. And its a straight drop. So its not hard at all.
