ok, everyone has a hard on for homemadeturbo.com that's great.
Come play with the big boys now spracingsports, guys putting down 302whp from a D16... and all the way down to 200whp and all the way inbetween. My second home away from here is turbod16.com - come check us out. Also, it's an american forum, so you'll feel right at home

to answer your question...
it will bolt in
in Cali it's illegal to swap in a motor of a vintage older than the chassis
the wiring is possible, and actually kinda easy (you have more wires than you need, so instead of adding wires, you just have to splice and correctly hook up)
there would be no advantage.
For comparison, I plan to initially lay out 175 wheel hp (as soon as May this year), and with further mods (MSD 6BTD and J&S Safeguard) on the stock block I'll make 250 hp until I pop it, at which time I'll just replace it with a built version of the same block as well as Hondata and a bigger intercooler and lay down 300 hp.

you can put a higher level OBD engine into an older chassis, you just won't use all the wiring, that's all. Only thing is with a dx model, you'll have to add MPFI wiring from the Si, plus the VTEC wiring if you wanna run a VTEC motor, and you'd run a D16Z6 OBD1 ECU, so you'd have to add a few wires, but if you were to run a newer non-VTEC motor, then you can just get the D16A6 wiring harness and splice the injectors in for OBD2 clips, and then run the D16A6 ECU with a D16Y7 non VTEC motor. It all depends on what you wanna do. D16Y7 and Si cable tranny would make a cheap easy to do combination!

D16Y8s are known for spinning bearings
I can't help you there... key thing is to buy from a good reliable source that will give you a startup warranty so if it burns oil they'll take care of you. I'm not sure you are up to the task of rewiring a D16Y8 - it's not hard, but you have to have your head in the game. I know I could do it cuz to me it's just common sense, but I understand not everyone is like that. It may be a bigger bite than you can chew.

But yeah Ive heard of it happening to b7's too, and even a couple b16's.
The bearings in the D's are pretty crappy, so they usualy get swapped out for refined B series bearings or some aftermarket ones when they get work done.
