Custom exhaust thread - info, setup, price, photos, feedback
Please post your custom exhaust setup in this thread. This is intended to help others when it comes to shop selection.
Please post it using the following format, or at least include these information:
1) INFO
The name of the shop, its location, phone number, website, E-mail, owner, who to contact, if available.
2) SETUP
What was done to your car, the work involved. Was it installation only; labour only (welding and you supplied your own parts); completely work supplied and installed; pipe diameter; vehicle specification (Civic or Mustang).
3) PRICE
How much was charged for the work performed. You don't have to give the exact amount but a very close ball park figure would be appreciated. Did you get a better deal by paying cash?
4) PHOTOS
If you have photos of the work done, quality of the weld (welds don't make power, but quality welding will at least hold the parts together better); condition of the parts.
5) FEEDBACK
Any advises for others, was it an overall pleasent experience or you would not recommend others to go to such place. We don't want to bash the shops of course, if the feeling is neutral, you could simply state N/A or No Comments and I think people will get the idea.
Thank you

1) INFO
It was a shop located in Whitby, off of Brock Road or Brock Street... in a plaza at the corner location.
2) SETUP
I supplied the axle back that came from a Nissan 240, so not your typical curve band axle back for a Civic. I wanted to do a straight exhaust setup with a tilt muffler so it was the right candidate.
2.5" muffler inlet, I also supplied the cat, so the work involved was mandrel band at the gas tank area, pipe after the cat and to the muffler pipe, and welding. It was a full welded catback so a really long piece. It was stainless steel pipe.
The welding wasn't as neat as some of the custom header TIG weld, but it did the job, no cracks or leak during my time of use. Also, I didn't ask for a resonator so it was really loud. Silver colour heat paint was used but I later took off the whole catback and used 1500F degree heat paint to cover it again for a stealth look.
3) PRICE
I paid around $400 cash

5) FEEDBACK
I called and made a drop off appintment, I can't quite remember how long it took (I left the car there at least for a full day) becuase it was about two and a half years ago but the job was done on time. The owner was able to wait for me because it was rather far for me to reach after work. But overall, he listened to what I had to say and did the work to my spec. For $400 bucks or there about, it may be on the high side for some. Due to my current location, I might not travel that far for exhaust work unless it can be done while I wait. But I wouldn't mind work with him again.
