Buzzing sound coming from subs
Hey guys,
I seem to have a problem with either my subs or my amp..
I've noticed this just recently.... the problem is that while i'm using my system, my subs start to make a low deep buzzing tone..
The bass still comes while the music is playing but i hear a low constant buzzing sound in the background.. at first i thought it was my exhaust.. but then i shut off my deck.. and the buzzing immediately stopped..
I've rarely had this problem b4.. and i've been using this system for 3 years now.. but all of a sudden it's happening all the time now..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

could be a bunch of things
play them and when you hear the buzzing go to the back and have a close up hear of what exactly is happening
-is the buzzing coming from sub itself or a part in the rear of the car that is vibrating
-is the buzzing coming from a leak in the box

check grounds first - sounds like a bad ground to me.
it can also be a damaged RCA cable - the shielding may be rubbed out and exposing the wires.
finally, it can be a bad alternator regulator - some alternators give off this feedback, and it's controlled with a diode, and if the diode burns out, the feedback is free to invade your system I had this problem with my previous saturn and a few months later the alternator died completely.

The sound is coming from the subs it seems.. I'll have to check it out again..
It sounds like a low rumble... and when i turn off the deck.. i hear a slight pop sound..
And i noticed that while i hear this low rumble.. if i hit a little pot hole or something.. the sound will go away.. so to me it seems like it could be a loose connection or something...
I'll have to probably wait till the weekend to check it out.. since i don't have my car up here at school with me =(
Thanks guys

sounds like a loose connection, it could be coming from anywhere though.....maybe ur deck, maybe your amp, maybe the sub or even the alternator.
Start troubleshooting and eliminating things.

Again my subs are acting up...
i keep getting that low rumbling sound coming from my subs..
i'm pretty sure it's a grounding problem..
where is a good place to ground my amp?
and if anyone wouldnt mind taking a look at it for me, i'd really appreciate it =)

ground it to a piece of the body or frame, but make sure its original part, not a piece of metal that is flimsy or has been welded on this will make a bad ground.
Drill a new hole, mount the ring terminal, then use a good bolt and washer on each side, tighten down for a very secure connection.
You can also solder the wire to the ring terminal for less resistance as well.
