I have a Clarion tape deck and an alpine cd changer, the plus for the changer won't fit in the back of the Clarion tape deck, is there some kinda adapter for the plug that will make it fit, and I've been told by future shop that you can interchange brands but I ain't believing someone who works at future shop, unless he's the installer. So can I do this, or do I need a alpine tape deck to make it work?

i think if the alpine cd changer has an fm modulator it will work.

diff brand diff style plugs, not all are compatible, use the FM mod like mentioned
