gain setting?

I have a rockford 300s feeding power to a ma audio 10" sub in a sealed box. The sub says it can take 1000rms and 2000max. Is there a problem setting the gain to full. The sub is dvc and im putting 150rms to each coil. Thanks

first....turn the gain ALL the way down....then....

turn on your system......then raise the volume on the deck to the level you like to listen at.....adjust you highs and lows from the deck........

now raise the gain until the subs JUST start to bottom out/distort......turn gain back a wee bit.

Gain is set.

As long as you do it this way, you shouldn't have to worry about blowing the subs....unless someone fuqks with you highs/lows on the deck, or the gain on the amp.

I don't know how many times I have set a system up, only to find out later that the poor guy played with the gain control.....(I know this as a fact, because I marked down the gain setting on the back of the amp when I do an install....the guy didn't know I did this, and I just checked to see if the setting on the amp is the same, when it returns, as the sticker I put on the bottom of the amp. 9 times out of 10, it's been adjusted. )

Remember, the gain control, is NOT a volume control.

It's me PULOVR.......anyways, the gain should only be used to adjust/match the level of output from the deck to limit the noise in the system.......adjust it too high, and there will be excess noise....adjust it too low, and you won't get the full potential from the system.

Use the example up above to adjust your system, and you'll be fine......(until you fuqk with it)
