Hooking up a Playstation to a screen (need help)

Ok..heres the deal.

I have a 5.6" LCD screen that has a wire that carries a video cord (yellow *female*) and the power connection (red power/black ground wires).

Now... Im trying to hook a playstation up to it. I plug the yellow *male* cord from the playstation to the *female* yellow cord of the screen, and then I put the power wire to a cut cigarate lighter adapter I have, and the gorund wire to that as well.

I tried this before with a laptop, and it worked.

Now when im doing it with the playstation..... its not giving me video. Im not sure if its the power wires though, cause the screen wont even turn on.

Would a screen turn on even if it didnt have a video feed to it? and just show black? cause if thats the case.... it just means im not hooking my power up correctly.

If anyone knows anything about this.... or could help in some way, please post!

thanx in advance

Where or what did the LCD come from...

you can get video when plugged into a normal TV correct??

Sounds so fimiliar. Everything you just mentioned happened to me. I had to buy a new deck that had a AUX in-put so I could run sound for PS2.

Yes the screan will appear blank or off without video input.
DONT bother with adapters for your deck to run the sound. They are expensive and sound fuzzy when you hook them up. And, its almost the same price as getting a new deck with sound inputs.

What kinda deck do you have???

RCA inputs would be nice...

DON'T buy an FM modulator if you don't have em...

That's ghetto...

That would be better than this....

If the guy is tight on cash and can't afford a new deck, an FM modulator is a good aterative.

I had one back when I had a Sony tape pullout and a portable cd.....that was hightech back in 1991!

I'm thankfull that I have 2 inputs on mine. If I need one more, I might go with an audio/video switcher.

I don't have any problems with my FM MOd but its built into the whole tv tuner and input/output box. Whomever said it would cost less to buy a deck with inputs then go FM if he doesn't have them wanna tell me where that deck is at

Its a hack or adapter to the changer dongle piece....

You should be able to get it in that way...

FM modulation is the only viable non mucho $$$ option however...
