Eric - I have a sedan, but I'm sure it applies to all 92-95 civics.

Dented Dx - Was the problem solved after you did this...even going over speed bumps?

ok were talking about the rear shelf where one would put rear speakers if it was a sedan? if so, mine rattles as well. what i did was shove a rubber door stop in between the shelf on the bottom side and the metal. everytime i turn up the audio it doesnt rattle anymore. hope that makes sense.

Good idea. I have a 94 sedan and mine rattles sometimes as well, but I am too lazy to fix it, but if I were going to I would just buy some foam from CT and place it between the metal and the rear parcel shelf.

Hmmm...I give the wedge something in between the shelf a try. If you want to know what the rattle sounds like just tap on the rear speaker shelf.

on the hatchbacks, try tweeking the little metal spring clips that hold the cargo cover - sometimes through use they get opened up or even squashed - but with a little tightening with a pair of needle nosed pliers you can get is nice and tight - failing that a bit of sticky backed foam from home depot would help.
