Lightbulb Painting Interior pieces.....Any suggestions?

I own a 92 Civic h/b and I'm going to be painting the interior pieces in the next few days and I was wondering if anyone had any special ways of doing it or any suggestions they could give me before I begin this project!.

Thanks

If you can, remove the pieces. don't paint them while in the car.. Trust me it seem like an obvious thing to do but some ppl are just that lazy.

wash the parts to be painted well first.
Prime ( Dunno if you can get a special primer for plastic )
Paint
Clear coat, clear coat and more clear coat.

really, don't skim on this.. give it a lot of coats, paint and clear.. take a few days to finish it if need be.. cuz it will scratch and look like crap very quickly if you don't!

You can pick up everything you need from Canadian tire in the automotive paint aisle. Get some TSP grease remover which you apply to clean all the grease and cleaning products off the pieces. Then there is primer for non-metals from CT, use 1-2 coats of that. Then you can choose from the vast array of CT exact match colors they have, apply as many coats until desired color is reached. Then get the CT clear coat and apply 2-3 coats of this and let it dry ATLEAST overnight.

if you're painting your interior a "basic" color such as black, blue, red, yellow, etc.

try out krylon fusion........ my buddy used it and it worked great

if you want more "exotic" colors ( cherry red, baby blue, etc. ) it will take a bit more work

She may not want to over load the clear coat if shes painting the interior white, ive seen people do it and it turns the dash yellow, same with smoking

Yes I've seen Krylon turning out really well. Good luck with the paint job.

don't paint the interior.....it might look cool for a while, but then you'll get bored of it, and you'll have to buy OE pieces all over again.

just my opinion.

take pictures if you can.......the hardest thing is being patient and letting everything dry atleast overnight.
