I have a set of MoMo racing seats, I was talking to my friends and started thinking about removing the sliders from my stock seats and attaching the sliders onto the racing seats and tossing them back onto the brackets?

anyone have any insight on this?
just a random thought

 

When I was putting my racing seats in, I tried doing that, and failed since I ran out of patience. Its a pain to get stock rails apart unless you have a dremel or an angle grinder. I was using a drill. In the end I gave up on it and got myself mounting brackets.

 

I see, i might try the dremel and drill since i really dont feel like spending 150 on brackets. i guess with some patience and a few beers it could happen...thanks scrider

anyone else tried this? success? fail?

 

Which year civic are the seats going into ?

If it is the "Ek years" i suggest getting the brackets
Even if it is another type of civic body i would suggest getting the brackets
makes the feel of the seat a whole lot better
that's my two cents

 

I used the stock seat rails, and just used a 1/8" plate flat bar, and welded 1 end to the stock rails, and drilled a hole in the other end, so it bolts to the seat. It was not that hard drilling out the pinch welds on the stock rails.

just buy the brackets dude! plus, does your aftermarket seat comes with a slider??? if not then you need that too. its like 40 bucks a set.

but if your cheapo right now
then reusing the stock seat rails is fine

 

Yeaaah i need sliders and brackets and I am kinda cheapo haha, but i guess i still have some time to save up before throwing the seats in anyways. thanks alot guys!

 

i am thinking of getting rid of my seats. if i find some nice seats, i can sell you my brackets.
