Ok, so im thinking of putting this 4 channel amp in my car but i think its too much power for my set up.
Sony XM-4060GTX 4-channel car amplifier 60 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield.com

My current set-up: Pioneer DEH-6700-MP head unit, Sony Explod 3-way 6x9 280Watts for the rears and Kenwood KFC-P708 front component speakers which are 3ohms and have 280watts. This is in a civic coupe and just wanting to clean the sound a bit. It sounds amazing and im surpised the rear 3ways are giving me some nice bass from them. Thats all in peak power, not in rms.

Would that amp be a bit too much for this set-up? Oh and i wont be adding a sub just in case some of you are gonna ask me "why dont you get a 5-channel amp?". Never was a fan of the bass in the car, just want to here the highs from my "House" music. lol

 

you will be fine...... you've got 60 watts rms per amp channel, and the speakers i would think should be atleast 60 watts rms or more each... if that is the case you will be fine, probably should work pretty well too..

 

Yeah the fronts are 65 rms amd the rears are 65 rms aswell. I was told that was too much power for my current set-up.

 

sounds like a perfect power match to me......
