Viper 791XV comments? Remote start on standard car?
Are any of you guys familiar with this alarm? It's supposed to be Viper's top of the line unit.
Also do any of you guys have a remote starter on your standard car?
Anyone have comments on remote start units on manual cars (con's, things to watch out for, ect..)

basically what it is, it's like a turbo timer, you get out and lock the car, the car is still running - therefore it knows your 5 spd MUST be in neutral if you could lock the car AND leave it running. So it shuts off the motor and remote start can work. If you go back in to get your wallet and you unlock the car, the remote start won't work cuz now it can't be certain that it's still in neutral. If you wanna enable remote start again, you start the car, and go through the process again. I have a Viper alarm, great unit!! Install is so much more important than the unit itself - but DEI is a solid company. I'd buy it if I had a car to put it on.... but all my cars already have alarms.

LoL just wondering, Travis is a good guy so dont worry. His brother installed that alarm on my friends black 1.6 in the fall i think it was. If you dont mind me asking how much is he gonna charge you for it, im guessing $450?
I am getting mine installed through PULOVR, but mine is the Clifford RS3.5.

Think this way... ever have a room, like a hallway or staricase - you can turn the light on from one end, walk to the other end, and flick the switch there and the light turns off... on the return trip you turn it on at the second switch, and you go back and turn it off at the 1st switch. Yeah, it's like that.

Thanks for the kind words Chris, but my installer does all the hard work. I hate getting under the dash, and getting all contorted and dirty. But if i have to, I will.
BTW, it's called "reservation mode". (aka. turbo). The Compustar also has a seperate turbo timer mode as well.

You drive your car up, pull the e-brake, turn the key to OFF and pull it out - car keeps running, you get out, lock your doors using your remote locking or whatever the hell you wanna do, car is still running, and minimum 10 seconds, maximum a few minutes (all depending on how hard you drove the car) the turbo timer will shut the car off, car is locked, ignition is off, and the keys are with you.
