Talking Found a Dastun 510 (pics inside)

Well I am searching for my next car...I just came across this car..
Thanks to Danny Q on the 510 forums, I will hopefully own this car 1 day soon, if the owner is prepared to sell it ! I spoke to the owner on the phone and he wants a pretty penny for the car !
It is located in Ottawa Ontario ! (Ottawa's best kept secret !) haha
Its a 1972 510 !
I cannot give anymore details or else I might loose it.....LoL

This car is mint !

The car is 1972 PL510 2-dr, one owner before me.

It is completely restored and like new, with all steel panels (no fibreglass) in Porsche red.
Mods: 2litre engine, with head ported and polished; cam, and titanium retainers; , twin 40 Weber's, BRE intake (rare) headers, and stainless steel exhaust (inc muffler); 5-sp trans (200SX), LSD 3.9; upgraded brakes with stainless steel brake lines (all new); front air dam; Cibies, and driving lamps, extra instrumentation, centre console, racing seats, and full Targa Newfoundland certified roll cage; racing harnesses.
Four sets of wheels: 13 x 7 ARE Libres (the traditional wheel for the 510); 14 x 7 Epsilon (3-piece) w tires); 15 x 7 Panasports (new) with tires; and very rare SSR 2-piece 15 x 7 wheels (no tires), ~ value in wheels alone is $5k;
lowered suspension with proper struts (**), cross member, with camber adj., and alum spacers to compensate for lowered susp;
Many other small and trick items.......
Numerous spares (inc body panels), dashes etc);

Price $20,000.

Well, it does look mint for a 72.... But why? Whats so special about this car? The motor probably has any compression left, and parts would be a bi*tch to find if something brakes.... Interior needs some work too (seats and dash).

Also, is this RWD? If so, what you gonna do when winter comes?
Dude stick with a 2000-2001 SiR or ITR I'm sure you can find a good one with decent price at work.

Its good to be unique and stuff, I know. I looked into so many different cars before I bought my Civic, and I'm so happy that I didn't buy something else.

However, its up to you. All I know is that a Honda won't disappoint (you know that already) and its an excellent all year around car.

Clean Datsun!
I personally wouldn't want one, but if you like it that's all that matters.
I thought you were looking for a new rex with a swap?

I'd rock that on a daily basis no doubt...there are tons of replacement parts for these cars...just cuz they are old dont mean that u cant fix them when they break...not to mention the huge owners group/following that they have.

Awesome car, hope u get it or one similar Rob

To black86hatch: the current Acura 3.5 RL's engine is longitudinally mounted and is front wheel drive.....
Also, the Legend before it was also longitudinally mounted....

The old Oldsmobile Toronado's (even from the 60's) were longitudinally mounted, FWD cars.... There were a few others but I think you get my point.....

The 510 is RWD though. When I was a kid my dad went through 5 of those (1 wagon, 1 coupe and 3 4-doors). He finally upgraded to a 710...the car I learned how to drive on. It was even a 4-speed...manual.
