Nikon D80 worth it?

Nikon D80 worth it?
Anyone have this camera and can share some sample shots?
I've read numerous reviews online but they all seem to say the same thing.
Any other options recommended in the same price range? I'll be using it for product photography and trips.

imo, nothing better in the price range Duy..
there's the new 40D from Canon for a tad more spendolies, but i also bought for warranty
Canon = 1yr. body and 1 yr. lens
Nikon = 2 yr. body and 5 yr. lens
over time IF you can find a new D200 the prices are bound to come down once the D300 hits the shelves
or you can even find a good used one
D70s would be a good "buy used" camera as well as the D200..
if you're after something a little more "P&S" like i'd say get a D40 cuz they're a steal right now..just make sure to get a AF-S lens with it if you aren't big into manual focusing....
any specific issues you're concerned about??

It will primarily be used for business purposes so I like reliability and ruggedness.
I was leaning towards the Pentax K10D because of it's anti-shake feature and lower price.
Thanks for the input Marty

Rajiv has the Pentax..
i'm sure he'll pipe up here soon enuf
looks like a good camera..good warranty too i believe
not as much oem or after-market support for lenses tho if memory serves me right
Nikon and Canon have civic-like options
again tho, Rajiv can tell you more about the Pentax line-up
btw, lay off the crack and the anti-shake features won't be a problem
Nikon and Canon both also have VR style lenses

Like Marty said I have the K10D and I think its a fantastic camera. Its ergonomic, intuitive and produces awesome results. However like he said the Pentax line doesn't have the support that you would find from a Canon or Nikon. Pentax is in the middle of revamping the entire line of zoom lenses, so most shooters are relying on older glass or using primes for now. The K10D is also not an SLR that one can simply set to auto and snap some pics. To get the best results one must be constantly thinking about WB, ISO and metering. Despite it being digital it behaves a lot like a film camera which for me is preferable.
All that aside man, I think for you a SLR might be overkill. Travel implies portability and your predicted use for the cam sounds more along the lines of a prosumer level point such as an Canon S5IS.
My 2c.

Rajiv..on that note, the Canon 350D might be a good choice as well since the price difference b/w the S5 and the XT isnt much now. the S5 is great...but you still got the shutter lag and full functionality...from a comparison standpoint.

if you dont NEED all the use of lenses etc then a prosumer camera is more than you need...you dont wanna lug around equipment to sites to find you need another lens or what have you. when the prosumer camera has multiple lenses in one...and its smaller and easier to travel with you could have a small bag compared to the backpack sized thing I carry around
as you can see with tranceaddict's photos, you can get great results with less gear...but then you also have to think about the future and what else you will use the camera for.
hmmmm...perhaps the dslr would be the right choice and perhaps not...its ultimately your choice as you have to be happy and use it
the D80 is a nice choice for sure in all means

reviews are always biased we all know that....unless someone has a totally malicious agenda. you gotta give some credibility to the guy rajiv. his work is very noteworthy in my opinion.
