aha i see....i guess you shot these using the nifty fifty? man that lens shines everytime (except low light sometimes) but in my experience of using it...its pretty dependable at f1.8 and i guess sharpest at around f5.6 or so.

i wanna get a nice and fast tele as my next lens and doing some research atm. i really dig the 70-200mm F4L IS

those are all with the tamron 17-50 f/2.8. i rarely use the 50mm now, as 98% of my shoots i need wide angle. I'm currently pending on the canon 10-22mm f/2.5-4.5, the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L, or the Sigma 12-24 f/4.5-5.6. I'm also piecing together my strobist kit, but the damn wireless flash-sync's are like $300 USD for the pair! garrr, damn the photo bug!

Both you guys are lucky that you have the Tamron 17-50. It's not offered in my mount, I'd have to settle for the Sigma 24-70 or the Tamron 28-75.

yup...i love the tamron...its so dependable...here is a shot taken at the zoo recently. i wish i could have tried a bit more to get rid of the cage from the composition.

i was standing a bit far from the edge so i shot at 40-50mm but then had to crop it to bring the tiger closer...hence some minor grain in the pic but overall...i love the picture. The magnificent sumatran tiger.

If i were to remove the person's feet, it would crop it too far, thus taking away the wide angle look. I'm sorry that you don't think it's special, but I liked it, so I posted it up. simple as that.
