focus on the back part of the front button (any way to focus whole button, for example?)

focus on fabric
really has nothing to do with focus rather than the depth of field (dof). since you are so close or so far zoomed in to the button the available dof becomes shallow and in turn gives you a smaller area of the field which will be sharp...think about a camera like your eye...hold your finger up close to your eye to see the fingerprint and everything behind it is blury then move your finger back and you can see everything else is becoming less blury. The same basic thing happens with a camera lens...now to combat that you would have to make the lens aperture smaller (the higher number f22 is smaller than f1.4) and that will give you a larger "in focus" or deeper dof...the downside to that is that you will have to increase the length of time the shutter stays open to gather the needed light to properly expose the image to the sensor.

there are other ways to combat this shallow depth of field but then you are in to some serious setup and post processing

Hey Trance, F8.0 looks a lot sharper on your camera.

Its not really sharper, but more of that bottle is in focus, with a greater depth of field.
The only thing sharp on 2.8 is the label.
