why is it okay for an insurance agency to ask whether or not you are male/female and include it in their calculations for cost, but not tihngs like country of birth.

It's okay for them to predetermine you're an idiot driver if you're a guy, but not okay to predetermine you're an idiot driver if you're blue?

like when you apply for a job, they aren't allowed to ask race, religion, sexual orientation etc. maybe it applies to insurance aswell?
