STROBES? are they illegal??

OK heres the story...

I was in tim horotns parking with some friends, and my strobes which are in my turn signal corners and are whuite were flashing away. Of course being tim hortons an officer was bound to come through sooner or later. When they got there one officer went in to tim hortons and the other came over to see the cars, well actually complaion to us about our cars. What he complained and told me was that i wasnt aloud to run my strobes even in a parking lot?? I can see why i wouldnt be bale to run them on the street while driving thast obvious but can i run them in a parking lot/? What about in my driveway as well??

THANKZ FOR ANY HELP ..

dont turn them on?, as in dont put them in in the first place?
Thats like saying dont drive your car unless its stock.??

We all customize our cars to show them off and show what we like and can accomplish.

The way I see it in terms of lights, etc. is that they will attract police attention. Whether or not they are legal is beside the point, if you have these types of mods the cops are likely to give you trouble. If you don't want trouble, potential tickets (justified or not), etc. then I suggest you don't do these mods or turn them off if possible and avoid the whole problem. Its not like you need to have strobes on in the parking lot.

Just my 2 cents.

Im sorry you were in private property, hell you could of ran stop signs and not get ticketed (legally) UNLESS THE MANAGEMENT called the cops on you, otherwise you can kiss the ticket goodbye.

information provided above is not confirmed, just what i've heard

regarding lights or any aftermarket piece for that matter, if b4 installing/buying something and u are thinking twice about it coz ur not sure if their legal or not, dont buy or install it coz most likely ur gonna get trouble from popos. just like what el_sport said it attracts attention from cops. put your money on something else rather than buy fancy lighting that gets u nowhere but harassment from cops and then when that happens each of us keeps on complaining as to how cops are such power trippers but in reality part of it is also our fault. if u do get a ticket, yes u could fight it and maybe win it but is it worth the trouble to go to court when u couldve avoided it. ****, long story already but i think this is what typically happens when u buy stuff for ur car that u dont really need but just want. i hope i didnt offend anybody just sharing my thoughts.
