wtf? $500 a month for a 1993 honda civic cx?

hey guys

i just bought a 1993 honda civic cx

im 21 male

GM2 (got my g1 when i was 16/17)

clean record ive only ever got parking tickets (and when i had my old car i got a "muffler being too loud" ticket and a "tint being too dark" ticket (neither had demerit points) and 2 demerit point tickets on my motorcycle (both which are being fought so they shouldnt show on my record yet and ONE not at fault accident

i called wawanessa insurance and wanted to insure the car under my name and they said its 500 bucks a month......

i paid 700 for the car as a winter beater wtf there must be a loop hole or a mistake or SOMETHING

btw im trying to avoid insuring under my parents due to issues so i need a workaround

Where do you live?

Also, don't put full coverage on the car, just liability.

plus lines on your record mean as much or more to your insurance as points.

its 500 bucks for 2 mil liability thats it... (stupid wawanessa). i asked someone else and they said that body parts are more expensive to fix than car parts so insurance is cheaper with more safety equipment and i live in scarborough on the border of pickering (i know the gta is the worst but could i tell my broker im from pickering? im legit on the border)

ya i had a 99 civic before i was paying 330 under my mom when i had my g2

now i have my GM2 plus a car that 6 years older than my 99 and im STILL paying out the ***?

also, I was talking to my "bro-ker" and he was telling me how I don't need to be a secondary driver. Cops only care if the vehicle is insured and not the driver?

So I can drive the car and if I get pulled over I just say the primary driver gave me permission.

I just wanted to know your oppinion on this because i trust your word over his

i only need the car insured between october to april AT MOST and even then id be riding my bike on all the nice days

this actually surprised you?

Let's look at your 'clean' record...

Muffler ticket
Window tint ticket

Those do help increase the price.

So, you have 2 tickets that are on your record. You do NOT have a clean record and are a higher risk driver compared to those who actually have a clean driving record.

Don't buy a civic if you don't have to pay through the roof for insurance.

Well yes, you can drive the car without being insured on it, but if you get into an accident, i believe the primary gets involved also...though dont quote me on that.

lo what a thread haha. if you said you have 2 point on your motorcycle would that not affect your entire gm2 licence? your insurance comp. can see the point on your other vehicle and that will apply to your insurance. IM also 21 driving a 4 door se and im at 170 a month got my full g two years ago and only have a ticket for 15 over. the tint and muffler ticket shouldnt affect your insurance, i have 2 licence plate tickets issue tickets one i will admit was my fault but my compan said i only had one ticket affecting myinsurance
