Hey everyone, i just bought a obx lsd for my ls transmission and was wondering if anyone on here has put one of these in before and has the procedure for the install or knows a place that would do it. Thanks for your help!

for starters, get a di-grinder and start de-burring. Then find yourself a service manual for you tranny, if you've never opened, serviced and closed a trans before, this might not be the time to learn. Kinda thing you should practice on a old trans that you don't really care about. you need to open the case, aside from the Honda bond holding the case together even after all the bolts are out, you need to get a snap ring off the back side off the back side of the shaft hidden under a cap bolt thing, you'll see what I mean in the manual. You then need to pull the gears/shafts out and that will give you access to the diff, when it's out that's when you need to remove the gear bolts to it and then install it, torqued properly to the OBX unit and then begin re-assembly of the trans. This is where you'll really want to have a service manual because there are parts that need to line up just so, in order to not only get the gears/shafts back in but also to get the case to line up and close.

Can you get the trans out yourself? You could save a ton if you do. If you're in the west end I suggest Halton transmission on Dundas, just west of Mavis for trans work. That's who my shop uses for auto tranny rebuilds or to get flywheels machined etc. Good guys who do solid work at a reasonable price, you don't really wanna cheap out too much much on trans internals.
