Not sure where this belongs....

I haven't changed tranny oil myself before and my friend is looking to change his tranny oil on his 2000 civic....any link as to a DIY? It's a regular Si...so he wants a good oil but nothing hardcore like amsoil or something....

any recommendations on tranny oil types and a link as to how?

cheers!

get the amsoil, it's actually pretty cheap, cheaper then the honda mtf, and its pretty good, it feels smoother, and its very annoying to change MTF, since both the drain and fill are on the bottom, you need a pressurised system to fill it, unless u have something with a long hose that u can hold over the motor

I just brought my own oil into this place in mississauga, charged me $40 and changed both my oil and mtf

I just put in Amsoil manual synchromesh transmission fluid in my car and I think it's great. If it's more expensive than Honda MTF, it's really not by that much.

Yeah those on the bottom fill plugs are tough to fill up.. I hate when they have oil caps on the bottom of the oil pan

Hey Guys ... remember, you can always get your Amsoil products through me at Dealer Cost .... it's a good saving below retail.

Cheers

You'll need a device like this from amsoil...

or this...

all you need is a 3/8 ratchet, some rags, and a funnel w/ a long latex hose (surgical tubing or vinyl if need be)

once you get under there you'll see what I mean. it would also be awesome to have a set of helping hands.
