D16Z6 or other cheap/good d15B7 swap

Hey everyone, I'm a bit of a noob to the world of Honda swaps, but I need an inexpensive swap to go into my '95 CX hatch. My D15 is burning too much oil and missing a little, so I think it's time. Ideally I'd like to do a minor upgrade if I'm going to go to the trouble. All said and done I'd like to spend under $500 on all the parts, which I believe essentially keeps me in the D-series crowd.

So, let me know what you have.

Thanks.

if its burning too much oil, its most likly only your valve seals, buy a sohc vtec head and a p28 and mini me it, problem solved, did it to my 89 sedan, thought rings were cooked, swaped head, no more burn and a bit more power

Hey, thanks for the pointer, 98Coupe. I was thinking it might be my piston rings, but I may check the valve seals or consider that as well. One thing is, though, my car has a very bad misfire now. mostly at idle and accelerating in low RPM's. I'm wondering if you or anyone may have thoughts on whether that's more likely the seals or rings?

If it is seals I might start looking at new heads...

Thanks guys...

mini me can be done for under $200, and EH2-R, have you tried checking it on an obd reader? my 96 ex was running like crap, miss firing, rev limiting out at 5000rpm so i ran it on the computer reader, found out it was my secondary crank sensor which was in my distributor

Hey guys still looking for an engine. Mines burning oil and wasting fuel running on 2 1/2 cylinders right now so it's go time. let me know what you have.

Still primarily looking for D16Z6, D15B7 or other OBD1 D-series. Would also consider a full B-swap if the price is right.

Thanks.
